Extra curricular activities
We pride ourselves on our friendliness. A group regularly meets after
rehearsals at a pub.
We have an annual formal dinner at which about 100 attend and a speaker
entertains us. In the last few years these have been:
- James Bowman (one of the world's leading counter tenors)
- Philip Head (retired violinist from the CBSO and manager of the
former Birmingham Bach Orchestra for many years)
- Chris Hirons (leader of the former Birmingham Bach Orchestra)
- Chris Morley (music critic for the Birmingham Post)
- John Joubert (composer and patron of the choir)
- Jim Berrow (former Choir President)
- Tony Wass (recording engineer - Ninth Wave Audio - and member of
the choir)
- Maggie Cotton (retired CBSO percussion player)
- Sarah Walker (Radio 3 presenter)
-
 and
Adrian Lucas (freelance conductor, organist, lecturer, broadcaster
- and pilot!)
The choir went on tour to Tuscany in May 2010, giving very successful
concerts in Florence, San Gimignano and Montecatini, conducted on this
occasion by Neil Ferris.
