Pauline Round
Music has been very much part of my life from an early age. I started
singing in a choir when I was at school and have continued to do so
throughout my life. I now sing with the Lichfield Cathedral Chorus and
am a regular attender at Paul Spicer's English Choral Experience course
at Abbey Dore and numerous other choral workshops. My late husband and
I were closely involved in the beginning of the Lichfield Festival and
my involvement continues until this day.
For a number of years I lived in Canterbury, where I served on Canterbury
Diocesan Synod and Archbishop's Council and became closely involved
with Canterbury Festival. I returned to Lichfield in 2001 and was at
that time invited to join the Lichfield Festival Board on which I still
serve. I am a member of the congregation of Lichfield Cathedral and
serve on the Cathedral Council. For a number of years I also served
on the Executive Committee of the Friends of Lichfield Cathedral. The
Abbotsholme Arts Society, closely associated with the Lichfield Festival,
and one of the most highly regarded Chamber Music concert clubs in the
UK, is another absorbing interest, and I serve on its committee. My
other passions are reading, writing poetry, enjoying my grandchildren,
and entertaining.
